IBM Corporation , White Plains NY
Senior Systems
Engineer - AIX Specialist (11/81 - 01/92)
Hired as an
electronics technician, my career progressed from designing electrical
interface equipment and related software, to executive level marketing support.
During the engineering phase, there was an equal emphasis on electrical
interface design and software application development. I had heavy
manufacturing experience in production environments and was a process equipment
programmer with experience developing production applications and architectures
for many tools including SCARA robots. At the pinnacle of my IBM career, I was
the senior AIX technical specialist in the IBM Executive Briefing Center. This
position entailed development (programming and setup) of marketing
presentations and daily marketing to fortune 500 executives and their advisory
team. It was both technical from a demo development and admin setup perspective,
as well as a marketing presentation perspective. I did it all! The job included
a significant amount of after hours entertainment. I was wholly responsible for
the technical aspects and operation of the briefing/presentation facility and
design and programming of many demos. Technical coordinator and senior
technical support for all AIX & RS/6000 oriented road shows in the
continental US. I was a keynote technical speaker at many world-class trade
shows, and traveled extensively in the US and abroad doing public speaking and
executive level marketing. I am a professionally trained public speaker and
have experience in front of LARGE trade show audiences, as well as daily
practice with groups of up to 50. Trained by IBM and Communispond (the same
folks that train the president of the US).
